Scanning with Google Vision AI
Anyone who has attempted to scan barcodes using their phones camera knows it can be frustrating at times. The experience can vary depending on the camera quality, lighting, motion, focus, and the apps capabilities. As a result, we had previously recommended PeopleTrack run on Zebra handheld devices that have built in barcode scanners in order to provide the most optimal processing for a line of visitors at the entryway.
By integrating with Google’s Vision API, one of the most advanced machine learning models available for image interpretation, we have solved the common difficulties for camera scanning.
Our app adjusts instantaneously regardless of motion, poor lighting, and focus, and will scan the ID often before it’s even fully in frame! As a result, our clients are now free to choose any android device they would like for the platform without concern for the device quality.
Mobile Badge Printing
Zebra has introduced the ZQ500 series for true label printing for mobile that is now compatible with PeopleTrack. The printers accommodate a variety of label types, similar to the Dymo Labelwriters. We have expanded our print options to provide users the ability to customize their mobile badges and choose logos, images, barcodes, check in fields, and visitor info. You can also select whether you want to print an ID badge or a traditional ticket.
Support for the Zebra ZQ310 model remains, which can also print new the badge features in the app on its supported roll types.
