Many Ways to Scan a State ID
The goal of most visitor management applications is to process visitors quickly and efficiently. One method of doing so is to be able to read or scan a persons state ID/Drivers license and extract that information immediately into the software. This can greatly reduce data entry time, the potential for errors, and prevent fraud.
PeopleTrack integrates with several different drivers license scanners & readers in order to accommodate various customer needs and scenarios.
The E-seek M260 reads the name, address, dob, and drivers license number by dunking or swiping the card.
Pros: Can read both magnetic stripes and barcodes from state issued IDs. Quick processing time (<1 second).
Cons: Not the most intuitive method for new visitors to do on their own. No photo extraction.
The Snapshell R3 scans the state ID and extracts the photo, name, address, gender, dob, and license number via optical character recognition
Pros: Saves an image of the entire ID. Extracts the profile photo into the app. Can read some biz cards.
Cons: Extracted data may require correcting typos caused by limitations with OCR. Slower processing time (<2-3 seconds).
The Xenon 1950 reads the barcode from the state ID or CAC card and sends the name, address, dob, and license number into the software.
Pros: Most intuitive device for new visitors. Quick processing time (<1 second). Can work without PeopleTrack being on screen.
Cons: No photo extraction
